Mt. Fuji described in literature

Tenka Jyaya Tea House

It is a teahouse located Misaka Mt. Pass that separates Kofu area in Yamanashi prefecture and the Fuji Five Lakes area. Tenka-jaya ,built in 1934, used to host famous authors, such as Masuji Ibuse and Osamu Dazai, and, Osamu Dazai in particular later mentioned his stay in his work titled “Fugoku Hyakkei (One hundred views of Mount Fuji)” saying “Mt. Fuji looks great with evening primroses”. Although the building has been rebuilt twice before, the room Dazai stayed in has been restored and is open to the public as the “Osamu Dazai Memorial Room”.

Lake Motosu

Having a depth of 138 meters, Lake Motosu with a mysterious navy blue surface is the deepest lake among the Fuji Five Lakes. There is a monument by the lake engraved with a poem that was written by Akiko Yosano when she visited the lake with her husband, Tekkan.
