Visit Okumiya, which is also known as ”Money fortune shrine,” Kawaguchi Asama Shrine, and a relaxing waterfall “Haha no Shirataki.”
The shrine, which was said to be built in 1534, has a rear shrine called “Heda no Tsuji”. Heda no Tsuji is located at 1,700 meters above sea level near the Fuji 2nd station, is deep in the mountains and has mysterious atmosphere. It is known to give blessings for money and has been nicknamed “kinun jinja (shrine for economic fortune)”.
The shrine, that was built in 845, a year after the major eruption during the Teikan era, is one of the most traditional Asama shrines and enshrines Mt. Fuji as the object of worship. It is said that the shrine gives blessing for safe delivery and childcare. The shrine fills you with sublime atmosphere having seven 1200 years-old cedar trees that are over 40 meters tall.
It is located near the Kawaguchi Asama shrine and, it is said that visitors used to cleanse themselves in the waterfall before climbing Mt. Fuji. By the waterfall, there is the Haha no Shirataki shrine where the mother of Konohanasakuya-hime is enshrined.
